Re: BFBC2: First Impressions [Possible Spoilers]

Just finished the SP.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! OH NOES! SCROLL DOWN PAST THE CODE BOX TO AVOID THE SPOILERS!

  Code:
Those nubs don't know we are talking about them, hehe. Anyway, I finally finished the SP, and I feel very unsatisfied. I mentioned in my first post how there were a lot of cut scenes, and many of the interactions you could not take part in like CoD. This was really bad on the final part of the last mission. When they were going to blow the glass open to the weapon, I was like, "Oh goody, I get to put C4 everywhere!" But no, I actually got to watch them putting C4 on it, and then watch them blow it up (I couldn't have at least detonated it?). But they made up for it by letting me take a few shots at the weapon with my pistol to blow it up (sarcasm alert). And then it went to a cut scene, where I got to watch my solider jump out of the plane. But that's OK, because I got to shoot the bad guy a couple of times to make him fall to his death. But after that, cut scene. IMO, the whole mission could have been done without any cut scenes. It would have made it a lot more epic. I'm disappointed.

and when the nuke went off, killing everyone in New York, I cried. Now onto the multiplayer. There are tons of issues ATM with connecting to the EA servers, joining servers, etc. But DICE seems to be working hard on it and are providing updates. I am able to join games pretty well, and I am having lots of fun. In my opinion, unlocking the class specific weapons/specializations are too easy. I have finished the recon class and I am about half done with the assault class, yet I am only a rank 10. You will see level 7's running around with M16s with ACOG scopes on them. Getting the weapons will be easy to finish, and there is nothing beyond that to do than get the gold stars for each gun. But it is still very fun.

I wish I could share your luck.

I've gotten into two games since launch and I was extremely ecstatic. Battlefield was back again! Woohoo! People actually having to use teamwork and coordination. Very few twitch lone wolf failboaters like MW2. Too many people with sniper rifles, but, meh, they were easy to pick off even as a medic using LMGs.

That was Thursday night. I have not been able to get into a game since.
On PC, it connects but hangs trying to find a match.
As for console, these screens are all I get to see:

I'm getting pretty frustrated at this point.

Sorry that I can't help. But at least the problem isn't on your end, but on EA's, and tons of people are sharing the same issue, so it will be fixed sooner rather than later.

Re: BFBC2: First Impressions [Possible Spoilers]

That isn't the worst case. I got the collectors (for the price of the standard), redeemed the code, dosen't shown in Weapons & Gadgets. Onto multiplayer. By the second server, those stuff (Colt, Thompson, Tracer etc.) have shown up, leveled up to Rank 1. And just five minutes ago, it taken away EVERYTHING. Plus PB dosen't let me play.
I honestly don't know why people think, that VAC sucks. Even though it dosen't work, at least it dosen't prevents you from playing the game.
PB=Epic Fail

Re: BFBC2: First Impressions [Possible Spoilers]

I have the same problem with using the limited edition unlocks. I redeemed my code, but they didn't show in my weapons and gadgets. But when I loaded a game, they were there. A few games later, I realized that some were missing. Not all, but some of them. I was able to keep the Colt, Alt Weapon, and the Tracer Dart. Yet everything else was gone. And then the veterans program gives you an M1 Garand. I used it for a few games, and then it was gone.

Again, almost everyone is having the same issues. They all stem back to EA's servers, which are having a problem (maybe they weren't expecting so many people on the PC? There are more players playing on the PC than on either console).

And what's your PB issue? I know that DICE recommends uninstalling the BETA (if you have it) and then running PBSetup.

Re: BFBC2: First Impressions [Possible Spoilers]

Well, it was working well during the afternoon, and I have uninstalled the beta 3 days ago.
EDIT: tried to join to any servers, but play now button is just not working (literally keeps searching forever), and server browser says it's failed to connect EA online.
I have now idea what MW2 likes.

I've had 5 mid-game disconnects in the past two hours. You're playing perfectly fine, then the screen goes black, and then you get put back to the menu saying that the connection to EA was lost. Then it tells you to log in again, but it can't, because you can't connect to EA online. This is getting really bad.

Well, let's hope they're not IW (or Activision), and they'll do something.
